Dr. Hazem Abosheashaa, Club Founder and leader

Dr. Hazem Abosheaishaa, Editor-in-Chief of ASIDE Gastroenterology, is a gastroenterologist and hepatologist with a clinical master’s degree in GI and Hepatology from Egypt, where he practiced prior to his current role as Internal Medicine Chief Resident at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, NYC Health + Hospitals Queens.

With more than 100 publications and presentations at major conferences like DDW, ACG, and AASLD, and being selected as one of the 2024 Emerging Liver Scholars, Dr. Abosheaishaa brings clinical expertise and a commitment to advancing innovative, high-quality research.

His vision for ASIDE Gastroenterology is to foster a platform that supports impactful, accessible research and drives progress in gastroenterology and hepatology.

Dr. Ahmed Salem, MD, MSc, MRCP

Dr. Ahmed Salem is a highly regarded gastroenterology and endoscopy specialist with extensive experience in treating complex GI conditions. He holds a master’s degree in Gastroenterology and Hepatology from Egypt and currently serves at Maimonides Medical Center. His expertise is further solidified by his attainment of the MRCP (Membership of the Royal College of Physicians), a mark of clinical excellence and dedication to the advancement of medical practice.

Dr. Salem has contributed significantly to gastroenterology through over 100 peer-reviewed publications and presentations at prestigious global conferences, including DDW, ACG, and AASLD. His research has helped shape modern approaches to endoscopic techniques and hepatobiliary diseases.
