The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee is dedicated to advancing a more inclusive, fair, and representative healthcare environment. The committee works to promote diversity in healthcare leadership, research, education, publishing, and professional development while supporting individuals from underrepresented and underserved backgrounds.
Through advocacy, mentorship, education, and collaborative initiatives, the committee aims to reduce barriers, strengthen inclusion, and help create equitable opportunities for students, trainees, healthcare professionals, researchers, and communities.
The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee aims to strengthen ASIDE’s commitment to fairness, representation, and equal opportunity across healthcare, research, education, publishing, and professional development.
Our goals include promoting inclusive participation in ASIDE programs, supporting students and professionals from underrepresented backgrounds, encouraging equity-focused research and education, and helping develop initiatives that address healthcare disparities.
The committee also works to create a welcoming environment where members from diverse backgrounds can contribute, lead, collaborate, and grow professionally while advancing ASIDE’s mission to improve equity in healthcare.
Members interested in diversity, equity, inclusion, health disparities, advocacy, mentorship, or community engagement are encouraged to join the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.
Students, trainees, clinicians, researchers, educators, public health professionals, and volunteers from all backgrounds are welcome. Committee members may contribute by helping organize awareness campaigns, developing educational resources, supporting mentorship activities, reviewing equity-focused projects, or participating in community and professional outreach.
To join, please complete the ASIDE membership or volunteer interest form and select Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee as your area of interest. After submission, the ASIDE team will review your information and contact you with available opportunities to participate.
